Zero-based budgeting (ZBB) - Cost Management
ZBB Manager will either be part of a large work stream owning pieces of the work or will be expected to lead work streams focused on cost reduction/value creation with a focus on both labour and non-labour costs.
Will be required to conduct/review detailed data analytics, develop executive presentations, conduct interviews and facilitate working sessions with clients. Focus on projects will be implementation-oriented with involvement and support of upfront design and value targeting
Role Purpose/KPI
- Project Delivery: Lead small Zero-based budgeting/cost reduction (activity-based costing, cost to serve, etc.) workstreams within larger projects and ensure project deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards. Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Decisions have a major day-to-day impact on the area of responsibility.
- Research and analysis: Conduct thorough research to gather relevant data and insights, analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and prepare detailed reports and presentations based on research findings. Identify, assess, and solve complex business problems in the area of responsibility where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Client presentation: Prepare high-quality presentations for clients including visually compelling documents, reports, and charts
- Practice support: Support the Practice Leaders or Project Leaders in developing business strategies and plans for clients across different practices. Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals. - Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within Contango on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach.
- Client Support: Participate in client meetings to understand their business needs and challenges, identify key issues, develop hypotheses, and generate data-driven insights
- Business Development support: Assists project team with relationship development, client need identification and proposal preparation
Qualifications
- Master's degree and / or an MBA, and/or evidence of a strong academic record (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (necessary)
Experience
- 7 to 9+ years of relevant work experience in a consulting or professional services firm
- Functional depth in strategic cost management, zero-based budgeting, overhead optimization, shared services, enterprise cost reduction, procurement and/or strategic sourcing
- Industry experience in Consumer Goods & Services, Retail, Automotive & Industrial or Life Sciences preferred; Working in the Finance division of companies in the above-mentioned industries will be an advantage
- Minimum 1-2 years- experience managing work-streams of consultants
- Experience in project planning, management and execution
- Experience in business case development
- Experience in implementing Shared Services or Outsourcing solutions as part of Strategic cost-reduction initiatives is a preferred
