About the Role:

Contango is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Poultry Genetics and Crossbreeding Specialist to lead and optimize poultry breeding programs in Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of genetics and crossbreeding techniques, coupled with hands-on expertise in managing daily poultry operations. This role is crucial in enhancing poultry performance, health, and productivity through advanced breeding strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management

• Oversee daily poultry farm operations, ensuring efficient resource management.
• Implement and monitor breeding programs to enhance poultry traits such as growth rate, feed conversion, and disease resistance.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures and industry standards to maintain flock health and productivity.

2. Genetic and Crossbreeding Programs

• Conduct genetic analysis to identify and enhance desirable poultry traits.
• Develop and execute crossbreeding strategies to optimize breed performance.
• Utilize modern genetic tools and data-driven techniques to improve breeding outcomes.

3. Performance Optimization

• Evaluate genetic stock and recommend improvements for better production efficiency.
• Continuously monitor the impact of breeding programs on poultry health and productivity.
• Work closely with farm staff to implement best practices in breeding and genetics.

4. Team Leadership and Training

• Lead, mentor, and train farm personnel on breeding and genetic best practices.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance the knowledge and skills of the team.

5. Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with suppliers, veterinarians, and industry experts to ensure smooth operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in animal Genetics, Poultry Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in poultry breeding, genetics, or farm operations management.
• Proven expertise in crossbreeding strategies and genetic improvement programs.
• Strong understanding of biosecurity protocols and disease control measures.
• Experience in team leadership and staff training within a poultry farming environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
